Solar Heating Systems
Evacuated tubes
Original Evacuated tube collectors use design features of a thermos flask with a vacuum between two glass tubes. This results in up to 30% higher energy yields than for flat-plate collectors. They have an additional feature which shows even the smallest leak. Individual tubes can be changed without the need to drain the entire system. They are imune to wind chill
A more modern system uses a larger collector fin within a vacuum which are 15-30% more efficient than the traditional twin glass type and have the added advntage, particularily useful in UK climate of a rapid heat collection time only 2 minutes.Hence a small break in the heavy cloud cover will give a boost tothe hot water. These systems are effective on cloudy days

Flat-plate collectors
Flat-plate collectors come in various styles, Aluminium framed panels for roof-mounted, flat-roof, free-standing and roof-integrated installation or timber frame panels solely for roof-integrated installation. They are used for domestic or commercial buildings, for swimming pools and central large scale heating plants. All collectors have an absorber coating.
They build in better than evacuated tube sytems but are less efficient especially in the winter months
Hot Water Cylinders
Most systems need a solar cylinder, there are retro fit options but most do not give sufficient surface area interface for efficient performance.
Solar Ray has its own exclusive range of solar cylinders which can be pressurised or non pressurised. Made of stainless steel, they are clear skies registered and come with a 25 year UK manufacturer's warranty.
Controller and ancillaries
Solar Ray selects the right controller for every installation and can supply all ancillaries for any given installation, pump, expansion vessel, guages, valves and insulation.
